Q. What is Pilates?

A. Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that focuses on strength, flexibility, and body awareness. It emphasises controlled movements, core strength, and improving posture.

Q. What are the benefits of Pilates?

A. Pilates has so many benefits! Here are some of the main ones:

  • Improving flexibility and balance

  • Strengthening the core muscles

  • Enhancing posture

  • Reducing stress

  • Improving mental clarity and focus

  • Reduced risk of injury

Q. Do I need to be in great shape to start Pilates?

A. Not at all! Pilates can be modified for all fitness levels. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, you can start Pilates and gradually increase the intensity. 

Q. Is it just for women?

A. It is for everyone! The founder of traditional Pilates was a man named Joseph Pilates, his principles are still the foundation of Pilates classes today; Control, Centring, Concentration, Breathing, Precision and Flow.

Q. What should I wear to Pilates?

A. Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothes that allow freedom of movement. Avoid extremely  loose clothing that could get in the way during exercises. Many people choose to practice barefoot, but non-slip socks can be helpful.
